Brandon Jennings的故事相當有趣，亦相當富有爭議性。
出身於加州的他在高中第二年轉投強權Oak Hill Academy，在Senior Year打出超強數字：32.7 ppg, 7.4 apg, and 5.1 rpg。
而這些數字亦為他帶來不少名譽如Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award及Gatorade Player of the Year。
Recruit Letter不斷寄到Jennings處，原本他曾經declare到USC，但後來決定到Arizona就讀，
然而在當年6月Jennings作出之前未有人做過的決定：不打大學，到海外打聯賽直到NBA選秀的最低年齡。
他加入了意大利的Lottomatica Roma，但那年表現其實未如理想，
他未能適應高強度比賽之餘，文化差異亦令他當年過得不如意。
然而他這條路為未來的高中球員打出新方向，不論是學業問題還是想賺錢，
到海外過水一年不失為好選擇。2014班的Mudiay正是其中例子。
