雖然勇士未能順利打進季後賽，但是Draymond Green再次受到傳媒的關注。為什麼呢？

事源是這樣的，在太陽對陣湖人的比賽剛開始的一分鐘，Anthony Davis面對面單打Jae Crowder。Anthony Davis做出三脅勢動作後突然後仰跳投，Jae Crowder沒及時縮手打到對方。但球證哨子聲響起後，Crowder已經退後，沒料到Anthony Davis還踢出右腳擊中Crowder的下體。Jae Crowder倒在地試縮成一團，十分痛苦。

引用TNT評述員Reggie Miller討論到球證應該如何界定這種犯規的時候提起了Draymond Green的名字，他說：「這大概是技術犯規了，因為我們在幾年前曾經見過Draymond Green這樣做。這個犯規會維持原判。但是我認為這是Anthony Davis的技術犯規。他是無意的。但這種判決可以保護球員。」

"This is probably going to be a technical, because we saw Draymond Green a few years ago," Miller said before pausing to left referee Zach Zarba explain that the play was under review. "I think the foul will stick. But I think it will be a technical foul on Anthony Davis. It’s unintentional. It’s unintentional. But this is part of the new rules now to protect players."

球證重新審視了Anthony Davis的整個動作，並改判了一級惡意犯規。至於Draymond Green，當時就有在看直播聽到Reggie Miller這樣說後立刻回應：「所以現在這是無意的？@ReggieMillerTNT。你剛才用了我當例子，說我也是無意的。當時你們沒有一個是這麼說的。為了證明你的觀點你才這麼說的嗎？我想知道。」
Draymond Green明顯就是不爽球評卻只幫Anthony Davis解話，於是直接在Twitter標記Reggie Miller評理。
