想當年，他選擇跳過一輛房車並接應隊友Baron Davis的傳球空接灌籃的確是有話題性的，但有不少球迷質疑他沒有跳過動車的最高位置，確實就沒有想像中那麼難。

引用今天Blake Griffin終於要為自己當時的決定平反一下：「下次你見到這部Kia Optima，你要檢視一下這輛車，想像一下他到底有多高。我的確應該跳過整部車的，Baron Davis當時傳球給我的時候，我不知道自己在想甚麼。大家不喜歡這個灌籃的時候我是懂的。下一次我要做得更好。」

“Next time you see a Kia Optima, just take a look at the car and get an idea of how high that is,” Griffin said in a recent B/R AMA feature. “I should have jumped over the whole thing and Baron Davis who was throwing me the ball, I don’t know what I was thinking. People don’t love that dunk and I get it. I gotta be better next time.”

雖然正如Blake Griffin所說的，大家都對這個灌籃動作感到失望，但是翻看重播的時候大家也心裡有數，覺得他跳的高度不足以越過最高位置。現在Blake Griffin竟然說「下次一定要做得更好」。 他意思是 他打算參加明年的灌籃大賽嗎？是覺得今年的灌籃大賽太差了嗎？
