據<ESPN>的報導，火箭的James Harden談及了自己近仗低迷的看法。他在過去兩仗，只有35%的命中率，而在上仗也只有20投5中。可是這兩戰火箭取得了勝利，其中在上一戰，James Harden上陣的30分鐘內，球隊在34.5%的命中率下只取得61分，與快艇的分差更達到負20。而在James Harden不在場的18分鐘內，火箭拿下了58分，命中率達到6成，而且得分的正負值達到正30。
對此，James Harden表示，他不可能百發百中，因為他也是人。
引用“I mean, I can’t shoot 100 percent all of the time. I’m going to miss some shots. I’m human. That’s the way it is.”
在上場，他的隊友Josh Smith和Corey Brewer策動了一場完美的反擊戰，而James Harden在整個第四節也只坐在板凳上。Harden表示，這就是關於無私，沒有人在每個回合中都得到讚美，而且這解釋了為何需要隊友。他認為隊友打得非常好，特別是在第四節。在這個時候，都是關於勝利和做一些小事情為球隊贏得比賽。
引用“That’s what it’s about: It’s about being unselfish, and you’re not going to get credit for every play. So that’s what you have teammates for, and those guys showed a great case of that, especially in the fourth quarter. At this point, it’s about winning and doing the small things to get your team to victory.”
儘管表現不濟，但相信火箭教練Kevin McHale仍然需要倚靠Harden，那些角色球隊也不可能每仗皆能打出超水準表現。而Harden的後場拍擋，也為Harden投下了信心一票，認為Harden會作好準備。
