Michael Jordan先後擁有過兩支球隊，可是他曾經聘任過不好的總經理和教練，也曾選擇Kwame Brown和 Adam Morrison這樣的新秀。在這十多年間，Michael Jordan建立的球會，談不上成功。
不過，在2014年終於有所改變，夏特洛黃蜂(前身為山貓)去季打出43勝39負的成績，令這支由2004年成立的球會，第二次打入季後賽。夏洛特商業期刊，決定頒發年度商業人物(2014 Business Person of the Year)予Michael Jordan。
據<美聯社>報導，Michael Jordan致辭時表示，他過往飽受批評，但他為球隊以他的概念和想法去建立而感到驕傲，而他也相信球會也令夏洛特感到自豪。說到這裡，Michael Jordan已哭了出來。
引用“I’ve been criticized in a lot of different areas from a business standpoint, but I take pride in the ideas and concepts and views that come out of this organization to build the type of basketball program… that the city of Charlotte can be proud of.”
Jordan及後說他自己是個感性的人，他也感謝在場的人士容許他哭了出來。

“I’m sort of emotional. I take great pride in something the city of Charlotte can feel proud of.”
作為球員時代獲獎無數的名人，Michael Jordan的感性也讓人感到意外。不過，Michael Jordan雖然進步了。但現時黃蜂不但要為季後賽爭扎，季初羅致Lance Stephenson，以及去年從籃球營運經歷了3400萬美元虧損等方面，證明Michael Jordan還要努力。
