近年，Kobe Bryant先後受到阿基里斯腱撕裂和膝傷手術困擾，大部分球員或許選擇退下來，但Kobe Bryant卻不讓傷患影響他的決定。

過去幾個月來，湖人總經理Mitch Kupchak一直向外界表示，2015-16球季將會是Kobe Bryant職業生涯的最後一個球季。。不過，近日美國媒體卻流傳著Kobe Bryant改變主意的消息，早前更有NBA名宿指難以相信Kobe Bryant會選擇退役，而不是多打一些球季。

據<Yahoo體育>的Marc Spears報導，Kobe Bryant親自回應了有關傳聞。Kobe Bryant表示自己仍未決定是否退役，他希望在球季完結後再作決定。Kobe Bryant更表示自己會否繼續征戰，是基於自己是否希望繼續打籃球，在場上作戰。

引用“We haven’t set anything in stone and I’ve talked about it before. But could this be the last [season]? Absolutely. It’s tough to decide. It’s really tough to make those types of decisions. Players I have spoken to say, ‘Kobe you will know.’

“I’m making this very simple. Either I like playing the game and going through this process or I don’t. I try to strip it down to the simplest form. Either I like playing some more or I don’t. But I think that decision needs to be made after the season. It’s hard to make a decision like that before the season.”

此外，Kobe Bryant也認為自己的狀態很好。至於他為何讓身體繼續承受傷患，Kobe Bryant則表示因為他是一個熱愛打籃球的瘋子。另外，他對湖人能重返季後賽充滿信心。
或許，我們在下年暑假，仍然會看見Kobe Bryant在健身室中鍛鍊。Kobe Bryant的球迷當然希望他繼續比賽，但湖人球迷則可能面對兩難局面。湖人球迷或許不希望這位效力20年的忠臣離開，但假若Kobe Bryant繼續征戰將影響球隊未來的組軍方針，特別是今年選秀大會湖人簽下了D'Angelo Russell，也在自由市場上簽下了Lou Williams，Kobe Bryant留隊或會加深球隊撞位情況，也影響年輕球員的發展。而且，除非Kobe Bryant願意放下球權和支取較低薪金，否則湖人難以在自由市場上簽下明星球員。

不過，當Kevin Garnett、Tim Duncan、Paul Pierce和Vince Carter等還繼續在場上比賽，若Kobe Bryant改變退役主意，相信也不會令球迷感到意外。
