早前ESPN指出，熱火、湖人、籃網、拓荒者、火箭和魔術等球隊都有意在夏天競標Chandler Parsons，但據Yibada Sports的報導指，Chandler Parsons表明不抗拒返回航天城再效力火箭。火箭在2011年選秀會第38順位挑中Chandler Parsons，為休斯頓效力的三年間，Chandler Parsons交出一份14.1分、5.2籃板、37.0%三分命中率的成績單。2013-14賽季Chandler Parsons場均攻下16.6分、5.5個籃板、4次助攻，加上47.2%投籃命中率和37.0%的三分命中率。賽季結束後小牛為他開出3年4600萬美元的報價合同並把他帶到達拉斯。
