法國男籃國家隊總經理Patrick Beesley已經確定，他將會在2月前往美國費城，和Joel Embiid進行會面。
在塞爾特人和76人的NBA倫敦賽賽後發佈會上，Joel Embiid表示自已對代表法國男籃感興趣。聽到Embiid的發話後，法國男籃表示他們也希望能成功招募費城中鋒入隊。Patrick Beesley指出，他們不可能拒絕Joel Embiid這種天賦的球員。現在的法國已經是世界頂級強隊之一，如果能成功招募Joel Embiid的話，他們的實力將再上一層樓。
“為什麼不呢？”Beesley接受Grand Week-End Sport訪問時說道，“這完全是有可能的，如果他願意而我們又進行了正確的步驟。這很難拒絕，看看他的實力還有潛力。因此如果他真的願意，那麼他就有了為法國打球的條件。

It’s hard to say no, given the player’s strength and potential. We’re at the same stage as we were three years ago. So why not? We’ll get back in touch to find out exactly if there’s anything to go further. I’ll go to the USA in February, so I will take the opportunity to meet with him directly.”
